MARMOT BASIN/HOSTELLING INTERNATIONAL JASPER
ATHLETES OF THE WEEK SEPTEMBER 6 - 11, 2016

SAIT Trojans men's cross-country runner Alex Howells took part in his first-ever Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) race Saturday afternoon in Edmonton, Alta., and immediately sent a message across the league that he will be a force to reckon with. The lanky Howells, who was born in the United Kingdom, finished the 8-kilometre race first amongst all ACAC runners - a full 86 seconds better than his next competitor - with a time of 28:49. The 8km race is new to Howells, as he spent his high school career running 6km events, but he adjusted nicely.

Alex Howells is a first year Civil Engineering Technology student at SAIT Polytechnic.

Congratulations Alex on your first place finish!
