Marmot Basin/Hostelling International Jasper Athlete of the Week for February 20 - 26, 2017

After leading the ACAC during the regular season with 534 saves, a .943 save percentage and 1.45 goals against average, it hardly seemed possible for Heim to find another gear in the playoffs. But she did just that in the first round last weekend, stopping an incredible 131 of 134 shots fired her way in a 2-1 best-of-three series win over the Red Deer Queens. Her efforts included back-to-back 1-0 shutouts on Saturday and Sunday to lead the Griffins into the ACAC final. The two teams played more than four games of action in the series with Game 1 going to double overtime (a 3-2 Queens win) and Game 2 decided in triple overtime. Heim currently has what is thought to be a record-setting shutout streak going of 168:48. The Griffins will next host the SAIT Trojans in a best-of-five ACAC final series, starting Saturday in Edmonton.

Heim is a 2nd year Accounting and Strategic Measurement student from Wilderswill, SUI.
