Hannah Leggatt capped a huge indoor track season for the MacEwan Griffins by winning three individual gold medals (women’s 1000 metres, 1500m and 3000m) at the ACAC Championships in Lethbridge last weekend. She added a silver in the women’s 600m and helped MacEwan’s 4x400m relay team strike gold. She led MacEwan to a repeat as ACAC women’s indoor track team champions with as dominant a performance as it gets; the Griffins garnered 93 of a possible 100 points, and Leggatt earned 40 of those. It’s no surprise she was named ACAC women’s indoor track athlete of the year. Leggatt set two ACAC records this indoor track season, running the fastest women’s 1500 in conference history (4:36.14) during the York University Invitational and helping MacEwan’s 4x400m relay team break the ACAC mark (4:03.25) in that event during the same meet.
Hannah is a second year Bachelor of Art student from Edmonton, AB.
