Brittney Thibeaux lived up to her ACAC Player of the Year billing throughout the ACAC Women’s Basketball Championship in Fort McMurray.
The fourth-year forward found ways to make an impact in every game as the Broncos captured their first ACAC title since the 2012-13 campaign. She used her physicality to batter NAIT defensively and get to the line, finishing with 28 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks, then put up 18 points and nine rebounds against Lakeland in the semifinal.
Thibeaux then showed up when it mattered most against Keyano, with seven of her 15 points coming in the fourth quarter as the Broncos completed the comeback.
Thibeaux was recognized as the tournament’s most valuable player, and she will play a crucial role as Olds College focuses on Quebec City in two weeks.
