Sean Carey Named ACAC 2019-20 Men’s & Women’s South Coach of the Year

Edmonton, AB (Oct. 24, 2019) – The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is proud to announce Sean Carey of the Lethbridge College Kodiaks has been named the ACAC Men's & Women's South Coach of the Year.

In 3 years of leading both Kodiaks soccer programs, Coach Carey has built a culture of success on both the pitch and in the classroom and community. Under his leadership, both Kodiaks programs have made their way to the ACAC championships in back to back seasons which has translated the Kodiaks soccer programs into perennial ACAC championship contenders. The results on the field are truly matched with how the teams are representing the college in the community of Lethbridge and area and in the classrooms at the college.

"A true leader doesn't create followers – he/she creates more leaders and for Sean to win the Coach of the Year honors in the ACAC for both the men's & women's divisions is a true display of his leadership," says Todd Caughlin, Manager of Kodiaks Athletics. "The leadership team that Sean has put together to lead both programs is an incredible coaching team and I know that recognition of this type doesn't happen without the commitment that this group has! The college is proud of what he has accomplished and hopefully, there is more to come!"

Coach Carey received the award on Oct. 24th, 2019 at the ACAC Men's & Women's Conference Championship Banquet held in Edmonton, AB at NAIT.
