OLDS, AB - ACAC Badminton Tournament #1 was held at Olds College on Sunday, November 24. The Concordia University of Edmonton Thunder came out on top, with one of the most balanced ACAC tournaments in recent memory.

Concordia finished in first place with 174 points, second place was the NAIT Ooks with 169, third was Olds Broncos at 111 and Kings University finished fourth with 102 points.

With only five points separating first and second place in the team rankings, and only 72 points between first and fourth, it looks like this will be a very competitive ACAC badminton season. Concordia held the edge over NAIT in thanks to their getting first in three of the five events (men's singles, women's singles and women's doubles) and NAIT winning the other two events (men's doubles and mixed doubles). King's University and Olds College each placed in the top three once, with siblings Narayan Ramdhani (King's) placing second in men's singles and Priyanna Ramdhani (Olds) placing third in women's singles. NAIT and Concordia each had two second place finishes and two third place finishes. The next ACAC badminton tournament will be held at King's University January 19, 2020.
