The visiting Concordia University of Edmonton Thunder would hold the lead the entire game after a Keaton Souster free throw made it 7-6 at 5:52 of the first quarter.
The Thunder bench came up big in the opening 10 minutes scoring 19 points of the teams 27 points to go up 27-15.
Huskies would go into the locker room at halftime down 42-37.
Huskies D'Aubre Doucette's hot hand kept the Huskies close in the third quarter, by hitting four three pointers as the Thunder led 70-58 after 30 minutes.
Despite the efforts of Huskies Chris Oppong in the final 10 minutes of regulation – 15 points – the home side would lose 91-84.
Doucette with a total of 30 points was Huskies Player of the Game. Oppong added 26 points.
Ryan McLaren was top scorer for the Thunder with 22 points while Luka Korosec received Player of the Game status with 12 points, 2 steals, 2 assists and 8 rebounds.
