OLDS, Alta. - The SAIT Trojans left little doubt as to why they've topped the CCAA rankings for the majority of the season, toppling the Olds College Broncos 110-71 at the Ralph Klein Centre on Friday.
Ian Tevis scored all 20 of his points in the first half to pace the Trojans (8-0), while Charlie Conner added 18 points, 13 rebounds, and seven assists for SAIT, who shot 54.2 per cent from the field as all five starters scored in double figures.
Linden Jackson (15 points, five rebounds, four assists) and Terence Crisostomo (15 points, three assists) led the Broncos (2-7) offensively, while Jouvon Edison (10 points, eight rebounds) and Logan Shaw (10 points, seven rebounds, three steals) also got into double-digits.
After a hot start from the Broncos, the Trojans answered emphatically, rattling off a 13-0 run midway through the first quarter en route to a 31-15 lead through the opening 10 minutes.
SAIT further inflated its advantage in the second quarter, capping it with a 12-0 run in the final 2:55 to take a commanding 63-30 lead into halftime.
The third quarter was tighter as the Trojans went deeper into their bench, ending with the Trojans taking a 90-56 lead into the fourth quarter.
Nicholas Molina took home player of the game honours for the Trojans, while Shaw took the award for Olds College.
The Trojans will host the Briercrest College Clippers on Friday, November 30 at 8 p.m., while the Broncos won't take the floor again until 2019, as they visit the Ambrose University Lions on Saturday, January 5 at 8 p.m.
