Rattler's 1st quarter was all they needed

Snow was falling in Calgary and it also translated that way in opening quarter . Rattlers had taken control of the 1st quarter with a 15-0 run before Ryan Tod had scored for St. Mary's with 2:52 left in the quarter. St. Mary's only scored 8.3% FG in the 1st quarter. That is a rough start for a program that was looking to extend their improved play from last weekend.

Medicine Hat College had an 12 point lead after 1. 2nd quarter was not any better for the Lightning. They had trouble finding their own scoring, they also had trouble in handling the trio of Slack, Simon and Ashley. Between those 3 they had combined for 31 of 38 1st half scoring. 1st half ended with Medicine Hat having a commanding 21 point lead (38-17)

Coach Ruff stayed to his commitment to starting the 3 rookies (Casagrande, Okodua and Pennant) for the 2nd half . However they could stay off the pressure of a new duo Rattler scoring of Sappleton and Murschell with their combined 24 points in the game. Lightning tried to infuse some scoring with Issac Amsing 11 points but it was little too late for the Men Lightning.

Medicine Hat had increased their lead by 12 additional points in the 3rd quarter. 4th quarter saw Coach Humphrey bringing in other bench players to get some playing time with his team with a commanding lead. They had a lead at some point by 39 points.

At the end of the day, Rattler Men had scoring from 8 of their 12 players with their 82 total points
