Two in row for St. Mary's Men Basketball

Afternoon contests are not the norm unless you have competition from the school in Caronport, Saskatchewan (Briercrest College). St. Mary's were looking for their 1st back to back wins in the 2018-19 season. With a numerous of team success with 100 point game and their largest win 34 point margin over the Briercrest College Clippers.

The 5-11 Lightning had the lead from the outset and never looked back. Lead all four quarters and increased their momentum in each quarter. Briercrest (2-13) tried half court press, man to man defence and zone defences but St. Mary's had all the right moves. In the fourth quarter Coach Ruff had sat his starting five and let the bench support to acheive their 100 point status.

Clippers were lead by Nicholas Gregson (20 points) Player of the game Daniel Nelson had 10 points.

Lightning were lead by their starting five player Cordell Minniffee with 20 points. Player of the game Coal Clark contributed with 15 points.

Both teams return to action next weekend. Briercrest taking on Medicine Hat and St. Mary's play their cross town rivals SAIT Polytechnic .
