The Vikings opened the first quarter with a 13 point lead as they shot really well and defended their rim to allow only 14 points through. This strong show was continued by the Vikings as they outscored the Rustlers in the second quarter as well by 8 points to create a 21 point lead as they ended the first half.
The third quarter belonged to the Rustlers with a score line of 12-18, which cut down the viking lead to 15 points as they entered the fourth quarter. This quarter saw a lot of physical play along with some good defense leading to the low scoring quarter by both teams.
The fourth quarter was very tight as the vikings scored 27 to the Rustlers 26. The Rustlers managed to hit a handful of three pointers in this quarter but it wasn't enough to topple the Vikings, as they went out to win their final home game of the season to an ecstatic crowd.
The player of the game for the visiting Eagles was number 3, Brandon Issac from Vernon BC, who put up 17 points and 9 rebounds. And the player of the game for the Vikings was number 7, Darian Smigorowsky from Edmonton, Alberta who put up 5 points, 6 rebonds and 2 steals. Along with number 9, Michael Satusik who put up 25 points and 13 rebounds. Both these players are graduating from UAA this semester and this was their last home game. Thank you for your hard work and dedication boys.
