It was another home game thriller for the Lakeland Rustlers Men's Basketball team as they played host to The King's University Eagles on Friday, November 1st. The Eagles came out strong in the first quarter, opening up an 11-0 lead, but the Rustlers responded to tie to game at 17 after one. In the second quarter, the teams continued to battle. The Rustlers were able to take a slight edge into the half, leading 37-34. The intensity on both sides of the ball would pick up for both teams in the second half. The teams would trade baskets throughout the third quarter, with Lakeland taking the lead late, 56-48. The Eagles weren't out of the game though, as their aggressive style of play helped them battle back to take the lead from the Rustlers midway through the fourth quarter. The teams would go back and forth several times over the final five minutes before Lakeland would take the lead and the win 70-66. With the win, the Rustlers improve to 2-1 on the season, while the Eagles drop to 1-4.
