RDC Kings capture home decision over Clippers

Red Deer, AB - The Red Deer College Kings' quick and balanced attack created a challenge for the Briercrest College Clippers. The Kings scored four in the opening 20 minutes and eventually skated to a 7-1 win. 

Tyrell Mappin and Dylan Thudium put the home team up a pair within five minutes. About midway through the frame, Jacob Wozney struck on the power play and then Kyle Salaway beat Clippers goaltender Dan Dekoning, giving the Kings a four goal cushion.

Lynnden Pastachak and Dylan Thudium added goals in the middle stanza. 

The teams traded goals in the third. Regan Doig added the Kings' seventh marker only 13 seconds in to the period. As the game was winding down, Jamieson Ree beat Arik Weersink, breaking the shutout bid. The Red Deer College Kings finalized a 7-1 victory.

Dylan Thudium was named the Collegiate Sports Medicine Kings Player-of-the-Game. Jamieson Ree was recognized for the Clippers.

The Kings outshot the Clippers 46-18.

RDC went one-for-five on the powe play. Briercrest College struck once on three tries.

The RDC Kings (9-1-1-0) will host the Briercrest College Clippers (3-6-1-1) at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre.
