CALGARY, ALTA., (Oct. 27, 2018) - The NAIT Ooks men's soccer team left no doubt Saturday night.
The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) North Division's No. 1 seed dictated the pace from the first whistle, as they beat the Lethbridge College Kodiaks 4-0 in their Men's Soccer Championship semifinal played Saturday night at SAIT's Cohos Commons Field. The Ooks will now face division rival Concordia University of Edmonton in Sunday's gold medal game at 4pm.
Those arriving late to the game would have missed two goals within the first six minutes by NAIT's Matthew Zima and Christian Lima to put the Kodiaks back on their heels.
NAIT kept applying pressure, and received their third goal of the first half in the 44th minute off the foot of Javier Cassie to send the teams into the break with NAIT leading 3-0.
After the break, it was more of the same, as NAIT kept pushing the ball, while Lethbridge tried to keep them at bay.
Zima scored his second of the game in the 57th minute to cement the win.
NAIT's Player of the Game honour went to Zima. Lethbridge's went to Ben Knight..
