MSOC | Kodiaks Reclaim Their Dominance

Oct. 15, 2019 - After an upsetting draw on Sunday, the Kodiaks were determined to come out in full force Tuesday evening in their rescheduled match against the Ambrose Lions.

Sodiq Adekunle was an essential attacker for the Kodiaks in Tuesday's match as he was able to notch two goals. Captain Ben Knight would also be an essential asset to Lethbridge's offensive success as he extended his points in assists by two. Keeping him in the number one spot for assists in the ACAC league.

The Kodiaks started the match with composure as they primarily possessed the ball in the Lions end. The lads moved the ball around with confidence as they waited for the right moment to attack the Lions keeper Matthew Stacey.

Lethbridge's Sodiq Adekunle pounced on a ball from Easton Beaulieu from the right wing to open up the scoring near the 30th minute of the match. Sodiq was able to pick the bottom left corner past Stacey.

As the second half played on, captain Ben Knight of Lethbridge, was able to assist Jimmy Bukuru. Knight crossed in a beautiful ball to Bukuru who was found alone, able to place the ball in the bottom left corner with ease.

As the sun began to set into the second half, Ben Knight was still able to find the head of teammate Sodiq Adekunle off a free kick who would earn his second goal of the night making the score 3-0 Kodiaks.

The Kodiaks were able to reclaim their dominance on the pitch Tuesday evening against the Ambrose Lions. Lethbridge will travel to Red Deer and Camrose for their final games in the regular season. The boys look to keep their winning form in their upcoming matches.
