Tom Bernhardt Honoured as 2019-20 ACAC South Male Soccer Rookie of the Year

Edmonton, AB (October 24, 2019) – The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce Tom Bernhardt of the Medicine Hat College Rattlers has been selected as the 2019-20 ACAC South Male Soccer Rookie of the Year.

As a young freshman in his first year in Canada, Tom joined the Rattlers and instantly made an impact on the pitch.  He started every match of the season and his role as a centre back was crucial in our strong defensive formation that saw the Rattlers improve significantly from the previous season.

"Tom is an outstanding athlete, citizen and student and he was a huge addition to our squad this season," said Rattlers Head Coach Robert Cavicchia.  "He is a player any squad can build around and we were fortunate he chose MHC," said Cavicchia.

Tom is from Konigstein, Germany and he is currently studying in the EAP program.

This prestigious award was presented to Tom at the 2019 ACAC Men's Soccer Championship Ceremony held on October 24th, 2019 at the Product and Innovation Centre on NAIT's main campus in Edmonton, AB.
