Set 1

Keyano Huskies 25 NAIT Ooks 13 (1-0)

Ranked No. 2 in the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) polls, the host Keyano Huskies looks to come back after losing their first match of the season the previous evening at the Syncrude Sport & Wellness Centre's Canadian National Resources Ltd. Gymnasium.

Intensity best describes the opening minutes. With back-to-back blocks the Huskies jump out 4-1.

Kills by 6-foot-4 Liam Matheson (5th year, Business Administration, Tauranga, New Zealand)  and 5th year veteran 6-foot-6 Justin Delorme (Business Administration, Winnipeg Manitoba) make it 6-1 Huskies.

Time out Ooks.

Huskies up 9-3. Reversal of fortune as that was the score Friday night in favour of the Ooks when Huskies coach Keegan Kuhr took a time out.

Ooks, ranked No. 11 in the CCAA polls,  go down 6-12 after a BANGO by Radoslaw Brzozowski (2nd, Business, Wroclow Poland).

Back-to-back blocks by 6-foot-7 Don Campbell (2nd, Aboriginal Studies, Beauval, Saskatchewan) make it 19-8 Huskies with Ooks coach Doug Anton signaling for a timeout.

Down 12-20, Ooks coach puts in a few subs.

Set 2

Keyano Huskies 25 NAIT Ooks 17 (2-0)

Huskies hustle for some great second hit saves but unable to place the third hit into Ooks territory as they hold on to a 15-13 edge.

Several service aces by both teams which is unusual for this caliber of volleyball although the intensity of the first set may have brought both sides down a notch.

Campbell and Matheson dominating at the nets by teaming up for countless blocks.

Set 3

Keyano Huskies  25 NAIT Ooks  21  (3-0)

Tactical set with both sides placing their tips and looking for seams for the kill.

Service violations find the net near the end for both teams.

Huskies split the weekend series.

Huskies Home Hardware Player of the Game No. 1 Matheson.

Ooks Home Hardware Player of the Game No.  7 Brandon Eagle.

Huskies will travel to Nait next weekend, playing the same team back to back, for their final weekend of the first half of the season.
