Eagles and Vikings go the distance

TKU Eagles were back home tonight, looking to take a win from a third ranked the University of Augustana Vikings. The Eagles are coming a big weekend, as they swept the Lakeland Rustlers, who they are chasing for the final provincial spot.

But the Eagles came out flat, as the Vikings came out of the gates flying coming out with an early lead. The Eagles fought back and closed the gap, but the early lead was too much for them, as the Vikings took the first set, 26-24.

In the second set, the Eagles returned the favour as they came out flying. This time the Eagles were able to hold onto that big lead, as they won the set 25-15.

In the third set, both teams continued to battle, as each looked to gain an edge of the other. Both teams went point for point, but in the end the Vikings were able to take the set, 27-25.

In the fourth set, the Eagles again came out with an early lead. But the Vikings continued to fight, but the Eagles were able to hold on and push the match to a fifth and deciding set.

In the final set, with their never say die attitude, the Eagles were able to pull off the win as they took the game 15-7.

The Eagles will play the Vikings one more time, tomorrow night, in Camrose at 8pm.
