Edmonton, AB (February 25, 2019) – The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce Bryton Codd of the Briercrest College Clippers has been selected as the 2018-19 ACAC Male Volleyball Rookie of the Year.
In his first season with Briercrest, Bryton's accomplishments have assisted his team to a 4th place finish in their division and a playoff appearance. As the season progressed, his attributes helped Briercrest to push ahead in the standings and ending their season strong. Bryton finishes the regular season in the top 5 of 7 categories which includes 1st in service aces (46) and service aces per set (0.55), 3rd in total attackes with 610 and 4th in kills with 290.
"Bryton has been a blessing to have in our program. He is an incredible athlete but what makes him really special is his desire to learn and master the skills needed to be an elite player. He has had an incredible impact on our team in his first year and he truly does give us a chance to win whenever he is on the floor. Bryton is from Belize City, Belize and is currently pursuing his Masters of Arts Leadership and Management through Briercrest's seminary.
This prestigious award was presented to Bryton Codd at the 2019 ACAC Male Volleyball Championship Ceremony held on February 20 at NAIT.
