EDMONTON, ALTA. - The (south #1) Lethbridge Kodiaks defeated the (North #4) King's Eagles in straight sets (26-24, 25-18, 26-24) in quarter-final action of the 2019 Sutton Place Hotel ACAC Men's Volleyball Championship.
The Kings Eagles came out of the gate strong leading 6-1 to start the game. Lethbridge eventually turned it on, coming from behind to take the set 26-24. The Kodiaks kept their momentum going, taking the second set 25-18. The Eagles began to find their wing's nearing the end of the third set, battling back to tie the set 24-24. It was the Kodiaks' Carter Hansen who would eventually seal the set and match on a service ace.
When asked about his team's win, Kodiaks head coach, Greg Gibos said: "We need to take our victory tonight and build upon it, we need to continue to be resilient. Provincials are a different beast we need to be ready for anything."

The Lethbridge Kodiaks now advance to the semi-finals where they will face the winner of the SAIT Trojans and NAIT Ooks at 8:00 pm tomorrow. The King's Eagles will play the loser of NAIT and SAIT at 3:00 pm.
