EDMONTON, ALTA. - The Lethbridge Kodiaks defeated the SAIT Trojans 3-2 in semi-final action of the 2019 Sutton Place Hotel ACAC Men's Volleyball Championship, earning a spot in the gold medal game.
Lethbridge started the game with confidence, they stunned the SAIT Trojans early taking the first two sets (25-19, 25-20). SAIT began to push back in the third set battling to a 25-23 victory to bring the match to 2-1. SAIT carried that momentum forward winning a thrilling fourth set in extra points (26-24), to push the match to a fifth and final set to earn a spot in the gold medal game.
The Kodiaks didn't give up any more ground as they finish the match as they began it, in dominating fashion winning the final set 15-6. "I told the guys to just believe in each other like they have the whole season. They've been through so much together. I told them I loved them, told them I believed in them and I told them to believe in each other," said Lethbridge head coach, coach Greg Gibos when asked about what he told his team heading into the fifth set.

The Kodiaks will now advance to the ACAC final where they will face the Keyano Huskies at 5:00p pm tomorrow. The Trojans will take on the Augustana Vikings in the bronze medal game at 3:00 pm.
