The King's University Eagles will be looking to get back on track as they took an L versus the Augustana Vikings last game. The Keyano College Huskies are on a 6 game winning streak and looking to continue that tonight.
In the first set, the Eagles looked to come out strong, as they took a small lead against the Huskies. The Huskies in turn battled back, showing the Eagles that their win streak is no fluke. The Huskies rode their wave of momentum on the backs of their defence and middle blocking taking the set 25-22.
In the second set, the Huskies continued to ride their momentum as they started off strong. But the Eagles were able to recompose themselves and fight their way back. The Eagles continued to battle, as #14 Jayden Hiebert looked to be unblockable, as the Eagles took the set, 25-20.
In the third set, the Huskies continued their dominant defensive play, as they were able to nullify the Eagles offence. The Eagles did not quit, but it was not enough, as the Huskies took the set 25-18.
In the fourth set, the Huskies continued their momentum as they came out strong. It looked as though the Huskies were going to run away with the set, but the Eagles clawed their way back, forcing the Huskies to make multiple errors, and after a few key plays by the Eagles they were able to tie the set late. But the Huskies were able to buckle down and finish off the set, 25-22, and take the match 3 sets to 1.
The Eagles will be looking to regroup as they take on the Huskies once more tomorrow, Feb. 1st @ 3pm.
