Feb. 07, 2020 - The Lethbridge College Kodiaks hosted the Medicine Hat College Rattlers at the Val Matteotti gym on Friday evening as the Kodiaks looked to extend their winning streak.
The Kodiaks wasted no time to get things started as Quinn Buchanan started the set with three kills of his own. The Rattlers were not sitting down calmly as they competed point for point with Lethbridge's convincing front line. Lethbridge managed to take a four-point lead. Carter Hansen's back to back aces forced a Medicine Hat timeout. The Kodiaks did not look back as they took the first set 25-15.
The Rattlers kept their heads up high and regrouped in the second set. They came out determined to tie the game, however, the Kodiaks kept their consistency just as high. Carter Hansen and Tony Albizzati both had three kills in the middle of the set. Lethbridge found themselves up by nine points. Medicine Hat called a timeout to regroup. The Kodiaks were too strong as they took the second set with a score of 25-15.
The Rattlers collected themselves fighting point for point against the Kodiaks. The set was back and forth as each team fought for each point. The Kodiaks regained their confidence by taking a three-point lead. Toni Albizzati contributed with four kills and Hansen with three kills.
The Rattlers played a strong set having Nathan Chernik with four kills and Justice Lesuk with three. Lethbridge ran away with the score at the end of the set as they took the win 25-21. Lethbridge took the game in straight sets and now have a six-game winning streak.
