WSOC| Kodiaks dominated Broncos 2-0 

Oct. 6, 2019 - After a slow start to the game, the Kodiaks managed to take the win and the top spot in the South Division. Redeeming their tie from yesterdays game against the SAIT Trojans. 


Lethbridge College Kodiaks host the Olds College Broncos at The Comet Stadium in Raymond, Alberta Sunday due to poor field conditions in Lethbridge. 


The Kodiaks return home from SAIT off a 3-3 tie, leaving them with a 4-1-2 record. Lethbridge looks to defeat Olds to take over first place in a tight South division. The Broncos currently lead the standings by two points with a record of 5-1-1. 


The Lethbridge College Kodiaks come out on top with a convincing 2-0 win over the Olds College Broncos. The game kicked off with both teams showcasing strong defence, while the Kodiaks also started strong on the offensive end. Lethbridge managed to get 11 shots on goal on the first half but could not find the back of the net. 


The Kodiaks had the best chance of the first half in the 36th minute as Haylie Shoults shot went over the Broncos keeper hitting the post. The Broncos lost two players due to injury during the first half. The game remained scoreless at the half. Broncos goalkeeper Jewels Hallock had a stellar performance in net. 


Khloe Jankowiak and Vicki Noronha were the two goal scorers in today's match. The second half began with an aggressive offensive side by the Kodiaks. Christine Moser and Haylie Shoults had great opportunities to open up the score. The game remained scoreless until the 70th minute when Kodiaks player Khloe Jankowiak found the ball as she shot and stunned the keeper to take a 1-0 lead from just over the half line. 


The Kodiaks remained strong offensively and added a second goal in the 88th minute of playing time. Kodiaks Lauren Gray was on the counter attack as she crossed the ball that found Vicki Noronha as she headed the ball in the left side of the net. The Kodiaks took the lead and won the game with a final score of 2-0.
