Vikings take first game of back-to-back against Wolves

Camrose, AB - Despite the steady snow all day, the Augustana Women's Volleyball team had lots of support as they took on the visiting Grand Prairie Wolves. The Vikings came out with a victory after four close sets.

The Vikings started strong taking the first two sets, 25-22 and 25-18 respectively. The Wolves then found their ground and got an early lead on the Vikings, although the Vikings caught up after a while, Grand Prairie pulled ahead with the win of 25-22 in the third. After some firm words from head coach, Greg Ryan, the Vikings managed to win the fourth set to complete their work for the night with a final score of 25-17.

Bailey Chartrand, first year student from Edmonton, AB, was awarded Player of the Game for the Wolves with 2 blocks, 6 digs and 23 assists. On the Augustana side the Player of the Game Award went to rookie Sydney Leslie, first year physical education student, with 6 digs and 11 kills.

These teams face each other again on November 3rd to complete their back-to-back weekend.
