TKU Eagles took on the Grand Prairie Wolves in their first game of the weekend tonight. The Eagles are coming off a big weekend as they were able to bring home two wins against a tough Augustana Vikings team. The Wolves, are looking to shake of their last weekend as they fell to the NAIT Ooks in both matches.
In the first set, the Eagles came out strong, going up 9-2 early in the set. But the Wolves, were able to comeback off of a couple of key points. From then on, both teams looked to gain an advantage, but neither team would budge. Eventually the Wolves were able to dig deep, and take the set 25-12.
In the second set, the Wolves continued their momentum as they built a big lead over a stunned Eagles team. It looked as though everything the Wolves touched turned into gold, as they looked to score at will. After taking both their timeouts, the Eagles began to pick up their game and looked to start the comeback, but the lead was just to much to overcome as the Wolves took the second set in convincing fashion, 25-12.
In the third set, the Eagles were able to take a breathe and regroup, as they came out flying. The Wolves tried to push back but the Eagles countered almost everything that was given to them, as the Eagles convincingly take the third, 25-10.
In the fourth, the Eagles continued their momentum, as they started the set going 5-0. But the Wolves came back as they went on their own little run and tied the set up 9-9. From then on both teams looked to gain an advantage of the set, as both teams continued to fight for each point. But the Eagles were able to edge out the Wolves, as they take the set 25-21.
In the 5th and deciding set, the Eagles came out strong 8-3. But like they have all game, the Wolves did not quit, as they were able to creep their way and tied it up 13-13. Like they have all game, the Wolves stayed focus and took the final set 17-15.
The Eagles will be looking to get back on track, as they take on the Wolves, in rematch of their previous game, Nov. 2nd @ 1pm at home.
