Rustlers win first of Double Header

The Lakeland College Women Rustlers played host to the Grand Prairie Regional College Wolves on Friday night. This would be the first game of their doubleheader this weekend.

The first set was dominated by the Rustlers with strong passing and great defence the Rustlers would push the Wolves to there breaking point. The Rustlers would go onto beat the wolves 25-10 in the Firs set and take the 1-0 set lead.

The Rustlers would look to continue to put pressure on the wolves. However, the Wolves would look to stop the Rustlers early in the set. The Rustlers were able to keep the pace of the game on their own terms and win the second set 25-. The Rustlers would take the 2-0 advantage in the game and look to close the game out early.

The Wolves would come out and apply pressure on the Rustlers. With some great attacks that put the Rustlers in some unfamiliar territory early in the game. With the Rustlers being down in the third set they would look too rally back. A back and forth play and some untimely errors committed by both teams would make this set a lot closer. With the Rustlers being able to squeeze out the 26-24 win and winning in 3 sets.
