The Ambrose Women's Volleyball team took care of business at home beating the Lethbridge College Kodiaks in 3 sets 25-16, 25-20 & 25-19.
The Lions benefited from having Vanessa Boone back in the line-up after being out with injury for the past few weeks, however were without Libero, Journey Flewell as she got hurt earlier in the week and was unable to play. Jeena Johner stepped into the Libero position with Flewell being out and played a really strong game for the Lions.
The Lions played tonight's game with a few other changes to their normal lineup as McKenna Harkness started ahead of Ali Leskow and Maddy Williscroft moved from her normal right-side position to hit on the left tonight.
Williscroft was dominant out of the left-side tonight, tallying 15 kills, good enough to receive the Lions player of the game.
From the start of the game, the Lions worked hard to establish the middle early as Willow Lewington was firing on all cylinders from the start of the game. She also had 15 kills throughout the match, with 6 coming in the first set.
After going up 6-0 in the first set the Lions, wouldn't look back winning 25-16.
The second set saw much of the same as the Lions jumped out to a 5-1 lead. A total of 4 missed serves for the Lions in the second set would keep the Kodiaks close for a while but late in the game, a Vanessa Boone serving run would put the game out of reach.
The 3rd set again, the Lions get out to an early lead (5-2) and again would look back winning 25-19.
Overall the Lions played a really strong game, minimizing their attacking errors and neutralizing the Lethbridge attack with a strong block, not allowing the Kodiaks to get any momentum.
As mentioned Maddy Williscroft was awarded the player of the game for the Lions. For the Kodiaks, Mack Lewicki would receive the award for her 5 kills on 9 attempts.
