The King's University Eagles were looking to take the weekend sweep versus the NAIT Ooks, in the a rematch from their previous match.
The Ooks were looking to break out of a losing streak that has stretched to seven games.
In the first set, both teams came looking to take an early lead as both teams went point for point early in the set. The Eagles were able to capitalize on some errors by the Ooks to take the lead, but after a couple of timeouts the Ooks were able to compose themselves and tie the set up late. The Eagles were able to overcome the late surge by the Ooks to take the first set 25-22.
In the second set, the Eagles continued their form as they came out with a early lead on the Ooks. But the Ooks battled back to cut down the lead, but the Eagles lead was to big to overcome as they took the set 25-15.
In the third set, the Ooks did not to go out without a fight, as they came out strong and were able to keep a slim lead over the Eagles. The Ooks held one as long as possible, but the Eagles were able to rally back and take the set 25-23, and the match 3 sets to 0.
The Eagles are fortunate to take an early break as they head into a bye weekend. There next game @ home will be January 25 at 6pm.
