The King's University Eagles took on the Concordia University Thunder in the first two matches this weekend. The Eagles are coming in to tonight's match already clinching a provincial berth, while the Thunder are on a losing skid and looking to get out of it tonight.
In the first set, the Eagles looked ready to play as they came out strong as they created a big lead over the Thunder. The Thunder tried to rally back, but were unable to as the Eagles took the set 25-16.
In the second set, the Thunder looked to bounce back after their slow start. The surprised the Eagles, building a small lead and continued to run with it. The Eagles were able to battle back, as they started to capitalize on some errors by the Thunder. The Eagles were able to grab the lead late, and take the set 25-22.
In the third set, the Eagles continued to roll as the came out to an early 7-0 lead over the Thunder. The Thunder were unable to stop the momentum of the Eagles as TKU took the set 25-11, and the match 3-0.
The Eagles will be looking to continue their win streak as they play the Thunder once more Feb. 8, at Concordia @ 6pm.
