First Match of the Rustler's Post Season Run

The Lakeland College Rustlers take on the Concordia University Thunder tonight in their first playoff game of the post-season in Lloydminster, Alberta. The Rustlers and Thunder were neck-and-neck in the first quarter, going back and forth with every basket, ending it 16-22 for the Thunder. Entering into the second quarter, the Rustlers came back to play. The Rustlers hustled on offence and defence to clinch a 37-34. The Concordia Thunder attempted to fire back in the third quarter and were still neck-and-neck with the Lakeland Rustlers. Both teams hustled on offence and defence to obtain any possession to lengthen the lead. However, the Thunder fell one point short to the Rustlers, ending the third quarter 56-55. Entering the fourth quarter, the Rustlers brought up their intensity to lengthen their lead further and take the game home. The Thunder could not answer back and fell short in the fourth quarter, 78-64. The game players were #4 Rashon Russel off the Lakeland College Rustlers and #7 Arjun Dhawali off the Concordia University Eagles. The Rustlers clinched their playoff position and will continue in post-season play on Sunday.
