Trojans advance to semis after wild finish against Ooks

The SAIT Trojans punched their ticket to Sunday's semi-finals with a wild 7-6 win against the NAIT Ooks at the 2023 Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference's (ACAC) Men's Futsal Championship hosted at the Syncrude Sport and Wellness Centre in Fort McMurray, Alta. 

Trailing 3-2 after the first half, the Trojans won the second half by a 5-3 score to earn the win, led by a four-goal performance from Nico Gonzalez, which included a second-half hat trick. Soliman Aria had the other first half goal for the Trojans while Jacob Hunter and Kwasi Oteng struck the back of the net in the second half. 

Rodane Cato scored a goal in each half for the Ooks while Peter Jones scored twice in the second half. Khaled Sharab and Gabriel Queiroz each added single strike. 

Oteng of the Trojans & Cato of the Ooks were named Players of the Game for their respective sides.
