Keyano College Huskies 0 Concordia University of Edmonton Thunder 1

Keyano Huskies, three-time defending ACAC men's soccer champion (2015-2018), hosted the Concordia University of Edmonton Thunder this afternoon at Shell Place's SMS Equipment Stadium under blue skies and 21 degrees C.

With 16 rookies on the roster, Huskies dominated the opening half.

At the 18-minute mark, Huskies' Clession Anklam (1st year, College Prep, Pirapo, Brazil) stole the ball at midfield and dribbled in 25 yards to take a blast from 24 yards out with Thunder goalie Scott Hornbeck (2nd year, Bachelor of Arts, Edmonton Alberta) diving out to deflect the shot.

In a scoreless first half, both sides had goals called back due to offside rulings.

Around the 60-minute mark, the Thunder started to take control, keeping the Huskies in their own half with Kenneth Johnson (4th year, Bachelor of Education, Edmonton Alberta) spearheading the attack.

Concordia lights up the scoreboard first at the 81:00 mark with a doorstep goal off a rebound by Ahmed Abubaker (2nd year, Bachelor of Arts, Edmonton Alberta).

The Home Hardware & Boston Pizza Player of the Game for the Huskies was No. 14 Jacob Marshall (1st year, Business Administration, Staffordshire, United Kingdom). Thunder POG honours went to goalie Scott Hornbeck (2nd year, Bachelor of Arts, Edmonton Alberta).
