EDMONTON, AB – The Concordia University of Edmonton (CUE) Thunder (3-1-2) played host to the visiting Augustana Vikings (0-4-0) on Sunday to complete their back to back weekend run. The Thunder came away with a hard fought 3-0 victory in 3 degree weather for most of the match.

The first half Concordia broke away in the 14th minute, and then again in the 19th minute to end the half with a 2-0 lead. The Vikings had a tough time getting shots on net and only made the Concordia goalie make one save in the game.

In the second half, Concordia applied some pressure and had 4 great opportunities to take a commanding lead, if it wasn't for Vikings keeper #1 Cassidy Newcombe making some miraculous saves and keeping her team in the game. 

The Big Kahuna Sport Players of the Game for the visiting Vikings was #10 Julie Ostrem and for the CUE Thunder #11 Gabby Byne

The next match for the Thunder will be Saturday October 13th against Grand Prairie, while the Vikings will be facing off against Kings on October 5th.
