Championship Info

Men's Hockey Playoffs

The 1st and 2nd place teams earn byes in the first round (quarter-finals) of the ACAC Men's Hockey Championship. The winners from the quarter-finals will move on to play against the 1st and 2nd place teams. The lowest remaining seed will play against #1 ranked while the second lowest remaining seed will meet the #2 ranked team. All quarter-final and semi-final series are best of 3 games. The Finals Series will be a best 3 of 5 games to determine the ACAC Men's Hockey Champion.

When the competing teams are within 300 km in a best-of-three series, it will be a home & home series with the highest seed hosting games 1 & 3. If the travel distance between competing teams is more than 300 km apart, the highest seed will host all games in the best of 3 series.

In a best-of-five series, when the travel distance between the two competing teams is within a 300 km radius, the first, third and fifth games (if necessary) will be played at the home arena of the higher-placed team in the regular season standings. Normally, games 1-2 shall be played on consecutive nights on the first weekend if possible with games 3-5 as required following on the subsequent weekend. Where the travelling distance between the two competing teams is greater than 400km, the first three games shall be played at the home of the higher-placed team. The playoffs are scheduled to allow a mid-week game in best of five series to avoid three games in a row where possible, within 150 km.
