Parys Ona MacArthur was a standout for the NAIT Ooks men’s soccer team at the 2025 CCAA National Championship in Montreal. The Ooks’ goalkeeper played every minute of the tournament, showcasing remarkable consistency, composure, and leadership between the posts.
After a tough 2–1 loss in the quarter-final, Ona MacArthur rebounded with a stellar performance in the bronze quarter-final, earning a shutout in a 1–0 victory to keep NAIT’s medal hopes alive. He continued his outstanding form in the bronze semi-final, making several key saves to help the Ooks secure a 2–1 win and advance to the bronze medal match.
The bronze medal game was one for the history books. After a thrilling 4–4 draw through regulation and double overtime, Ona MacArthur delivered a spectacular performance in penalty kicks — stopping three consecutive shots to clinch the CCAA bronze medal for the Ooks. His resilience and clutch play were instrumental in NAIT’s podium finish and capped off an unforgettable tournament run. The fifth year Open Studies student has played an instrumental part for the NAIT Ooks this season.
