Paulo Cuesta, Ambrose Lions, Men's Basketball
ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Paulo Cuesta could not miss Saturday night when he set an Ambrose University Program Record for most three-pointers made in a single night. Not only did the second year guard make nine threes, shooting 82 per cent beyond the arch, he set a second Ambrose Program Record with 48 points! Cuesta was facing pressure on all areas on the floor from brining up the ball, to mid range floaters,, to driving the basket. No amount of body contact could stop him.
This weekend was a career high for Cuesta, with a total 66 points over 59 minutes of play. He sits 8th overall in three-point percentage and third in assists.
The Lions are heading into a bye-week before they look to continue this impressive performance with another cross-town showdown against the SAIT Trojans.
Paulo Cuesta is a second year guard hailing from Cochrane, AB, studying Business Administration.
