ACAC Honours Chris Morgan as the 2016-17 Women’s North Soccer Coach of the Year

Edmonton, October 27, 2016 – GPRC Wolves Coach Chris Morgan was named ACAC Women's North Coach of the Year while athletes Chelsea Fitzgerald, Kennedy Hall and Brook Robert were voted to the Alberta Colleges Athletics Conference (ACAC) All-Conference Soccer teams 2016-17.

The honours were handed out at the ACAC Banquet at the Conference Championships held October 27th. Fitzgerald, Hall, Robert as well as Coach Morgan were recognized in Edmonton where the Women's Soccer Championships are being hosted by Concordia University of Edmonton.

Fitzgerald, originally from Spruce Grove, Alberta plays forward for the Wolves and is currently enrolled in her second year of Office Administration at GPRC. Hailing from Grande Prairie, Hall is a midfielder for the Wolves and is currently completing her third year of GPRC's Bachelor of Kinesiology program. Robert, a defender for the Wolves also calls Spruce Grove her home, and is at GPRC studying her Bachelor of Kinesiology and Education.

Coach Morgan is in his first year as the GPRC Wolves Women's Soccer Head Coach and led the team to 8 wins and 2 losses this season finishing in second place. With 10 years of coaching experience, Morgan's dedication to the sport is evident when watching him interact with his team.

"We are excited to have Chris Morgan's vast coaching experience and believe he offers valuable teachings to our athletes. His personality and philosophy on the field makes him a great addition to our Wolves culture," says GPRC Athletics Director François Fournier.  "Chelsea, Kennedy and Brook each have had an excellent season and made significant contributions to their teams making recognition very well-deserved."

Their first game will be played Friday, October 28 against Olds College. The Championships will conclude on Sunday, October 30.
