Moncks Honoured as 2016-17 ACAC Women's Basketball Player of the Year

LETHBRIDGE, AB (March 1, 2017) – The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce Logan Moncks of the Lethbridge College Kodiaks has been selected as the 2016-17 ACAC Women's Basketball Player of the Year.

Moncks currently sits in 2nd place in ACAC scoring, averaging 22.5 points per game, 2nd in field goal percentage shooting at 54.8%, 9th in steals per game with 2.8, 1st in free throw percentage at 91.1%, 11th in blocks per game with .6 and is in the top 25 for total rebounds per game.

"I can honestly say that Logan is a student athlete that has earned this honour," said Todd Caughlin, Manager of Kodiaks Athletics. "There is one guarantee every day I am in my office and that is looking down on the floor and seeing Logan in the gym working on her game. Her determination and dedication to do her job is unmatched!"

Moncks is a 3rd year ACAC student athlete from Cardston, Alberta. She is enrolled in the Business Management program at Lethbridge College and transferred from SAIT in 2015-16 to compete for the Kodiaks. She has been selected as the Kodiaks Athlete of the Week twice and the Kodiaks Athlete of the Month for November in 2016-17.

This prestigious award was presented to Moncks at the 2017 ACAC Women's Basketball Championship Banquet held on March 1st at Lethbridge College. Moncks will now represent the ACAC in the CCAA Player of the Year selection process.
