Keiran Marchand Honored as 2021-22 ACAC Cross Country Men’s Rookie of the Year
The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce Keiran Marchand ofSAIT has been selected as the 2021-22 ACAC Cross Country Men's Rookie of the Year.
Marchand put together a consistent season, finishing no worse than fourth in any of the three Grand Prix events he competed in. At the ACAC Cross-Country Running Championships hosted by the University of Alberta-Augustana on Oct. 30, the first-year runner earned a bronze medal with a time of 27:52 (mins:sec) to help the Trojans men's team secure their fourth title in five years.
"Kieran has an extensive background in long-distance athletics, so his success on the trails should not come as too much of a surprise," said Wade Kolmel, SAIT Director of Athletics. "We thank him for helping to bring another banner back to SAIT, and wish him the best of luck at the National Championships here in Calgary."
Outside of SAIT, the Mechanical Engineering Student is a member of Biathlon Canada's National Training Team.
