2022-23 ACAC Cross-Country Coach of the Year

Edmonton, AB (November 2, 2022) – The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is proud to announce Bill Corcoran of the Medicine Hat College Rattlers has been named the 2022-23 ACAC Cross-Country Coach of the Year.

Bill Corcoran has become an institution in the ACAC Cross-Country coaching world. After 29 seasons with Grand Prairie Regional College Wolves, now known as Northwestern Polytechnic, Bill joined the Medicine Hat College (MHC) Rattlers in 2020. In just his second year at MHC, Bill coached the women’s team to a ACAC Championship this season. Under his guidance, Bill’s teams have won 36 ACAC team and individual medals, two CCAA team titles, and 3 individual CCAA gold medals.

Terry Ballard, MHC Manager of Athletics and Recreation says “having a veteran ACAC and CCAA coach of Bill’s experience has brought instant credibility to our Rattlers Running Program, and through Bill’s efforts in coaching, recruiting and community development, the program was rewarded with a gold medal performance by the Rattlers women’s team this past weekend. Bill has done a tremendous job in building our new program and we look forward to more growth as time goes by. Bill is a big supporter of our Rattlers Athletics three pillars: Academics, Athletics and Citizenship, and brought that to all his student-athletes.  Congratulations Bill.”

This prestigious award was recognized at the 2022 ACAC Cross-Country Championship hosted by Concordia University of Edmonton in Edmonton, Alberta.
