2026 ACAC Men's Hockey Coach of the Year

MEN'S HOCKEY COACH OF THE YEAR, KEVIN MCCLELLAND:
The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is proud to announce Kevin McClelland of the Portage College Voyageurs has been named the 2025-26 ACAC Men’s Hockey Coach of the Year.
In his 5th season as Head coach of the Voyageurs, McClelland has built a program founded on hard work and a never quit mentality, emulating the qualities he showed during his NHL playing career. Throughout his tenure, his teams have shown improvement every year, in 2025-26 making the playoffs and capturing the 4th seed. This season his team not only broke a 12-year playoff drought but was able to win the first playoff series in team history. McClelland’s ability to work the phones and his network with coaches across Canada and the USA has seen given Portage the ability to recruit top talent to the program.

This prestigious award was recognized before game 3 at the 2025-26 ACAC Men’s Hockey Championship hosted by Red Deer Polytechnic in Red Deer, AB.
