2025-2026 ACAC Women's Overall Rookie of The Year
Edmonton, AB (April 3, 2026) –
ACAC WOMEN'S OVERALL ROOKIE OF THE YEAR, MARLY DUMANSKI:
The Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) is pleased to announce Marly Dumanski of the Lakeland Rustlers Women’s Hockey team has been selected as the 2025-2026 ACAC Overall Female Rookie of the Year.
This is her second major award, after being named the women’s hockey Rookie of the Year earlier this month.
“Marly is a quiet leader in the dressing room,” Head coach Morgan Mann said. “She shows and carries a confidence that most first year student-athletes do not have.”
In her first collegiate season, Dumanski tied for third in league scoring, posting 10 goals and 14 assists, fourth in each of those statistics. Serving as a first- or second-line centre throughout the year, she became a key contributor to the top offence in the league, as Lakeland 23-2. The first year forward also finished tied for third in playoff scoring with 5 points, helping Lakeland to win a second straight ACAC title.
“Marly played a major role on offence and was a power play specialist,” Mann said. “She has a high hockey IQ for knowing where to be on the ice, make plays and defend.”
Dumanski also had one of the highest face-off win percentages in the league.
Off the ice, she was active campus life, living in Lakeland’s student residence in Lloydminster, supporting other athletic and cultural events throughout both semesters. She volunteered at a community church outreach program, supported local secondary school events like youth dodgeball games, participated in the reading program at public schools, was a part of the Kindness Wins anti-bullying campaign and worked at hockey schools and camps.
“Marly was one of the first members of the team to step up and volunteer at many charity events throughout the year,” Mann said.
Marly Dumanski is in her first year at Lakeland College, taking the University Transfer Program.
The ACAC Rookie of the Year award is proudly sponsored by Vereburn Medical Supplies.
