2026 ACAC Badminton Championships Recap
Edmonton, AB (February 22, 2026) - With the best all-around team decided, day two of the ACAC Badminton Championships offered up a chance for individual athletes to punch their ticket to the Canadian Collegiate Athletics Association (CCAA) National Championships. In the men's singles, Mono Suttinon from the SAIT Trojans comfortably played his way to the finals, where he claimed gold. On the women's side, Emma Tran of Concordia University Thunder put up a valiant effort in the semi-finals against SAIT's Emma Grabowski. The three-set match would end up going to the SAIT Trojan, who would continue to win the gold medal match, making Emma Grabowski your 2026 women's singles champion. The men's double saw Ethan Lee and Matthew Wong of the NAIT Ooks claim gold in a riveting finals matchup against Raphael Motel and Jonathan Su from Concordia University. In the women's doubles, the SIAT Trojans would again prove tough to beat with Nana Amnutkkittikul and Archelle Ouano claiming gold. Lastly was the mixed doubles competition, where Mahdi Ahmadi and Melissa Roque from The King's University Eagles continued their multi-year reign, winning every set all the way to the gold medal. Overall Recap
The ACAC Badminton Championships demonstrated a strong performance from the old guard of The King's University, but SAIT's young team claimed a resounding victory in not only the team event but also across the individual events. We wish all athletes from the ACAC Badminton delegation the best of luck as they compete at the University of New Brunswick in St. John, New Brunswick, for the CCAA National Championship.
