Day 3 Recap

Draw 8 was the medal round and the final draw of the Championships

In the mixed division Concordia started off strong with 4 in the 2nd end, but Red Deer slowly picked away at their lead.  After 8 ends the score was tied and the gold medal game went into extra ends.  Concordia made their final shot to secure a 7 - 6 win and the ACAC Gold medal

On the women's side of the draw Augustana took on NAIT.  The Ooks scored 3 in 3 different ends to secure a 9 - 2 victory and the ACAC Women's Bronze medal.  In the gold medal game Concordia was up 3 - 2 after three ends.  A steal of 4 in the 4th end proved to be too large of a deficit to come back from for the Queens which resulted in a 9 - 4 victory for Thunder and Concordia's  second gold medal of the day.

In the bronze medal game for the men there was no scoring in  the first couple of ends and the score was tied at 1 after the 4th.  Red Deer picked up 3 on Olds in the 5th end and stole points in 6 and 7 to secure the 6 - 4 win and ACAC bronze.  The gold medal game was a game of ones.  No more than one point was scored in any end.  The game was tied at 4 after 8 ends.  Augustana picked up 1 in the extra end and defeated the NAIT Ooks by a score of 5 - 4 and take home the Gold medal.
