EDMONTON, AB (September 24, 2022) – Round two of the 2022 ACAC Gold Championships took place Saturday afternoon at the RedTail Landing Golf Course hosted by Concordia University of Edmonton. A cold and windy day proved challenging for the golfers as they worked their way through the course for the second time.

On the men's side, Medicine Hat's Chase Broderson took control of first place as he shot a 75 in the second round to sit at even par through two rounds. SAIT's Brodie Shields-Tyler shot a 76 on Saturday to fall one stroke behind Broderson on the leaderboard. Medicine Hat's Colby Friedrich moved into the top three after the second round, sitting two strokes back. In the men's team event, Medicine Hat increased their lead in the second round, putting a 14 shot lead between them and second place SAIT. Concordia rounds out the top three in the men's team event.

There was no change at the top of the women's event, as Concordia's Ella Gifford shot an 87 on Saturday to extend her lead to nine strokes. Medicine Hat's Libby Bourassa shot a 91 in the second round to remain in second place, while SAIT's Kristine Dixon moved into the top three, shooting an 89 and putting her only behind Gifford for the best round on Saturday.

In the mixed team standings, Medicine Hat sits in first place, with SAIT nine strokes back in second place, and Concordia rounding out the top three.

The third and final round will take place Sunday afternoon, with the first group teeing off slightly after noon.
