Rattlers Win A Close One.
The Olds Broncos Came into the Snake pit Hoping to take an early season game off the Medicine Hat Rattlers. The Broncos came out firing getting off to a hot start and taking the packed house fans out of it early. This was really effective as they got off to a hot start. The Rattlers sputtered offensively early failing to convert on their early trips down the floor. This cause turmoil on the Rattler sidelines as the Bench called 2 timeouts early in an attempt to stem the bleeding. By the end of the first the Broncos lead 17-10
The Rattlers seemed to take great offence to being down in the game as they came out in the second Quarter furiously. The Broncos couldn't handle the pressure from the Medicine Hat squad and gave up the lead. The Rattlers only briefly took over the lead before the two teams swapped back and forth as the score rose. With neither team really excelling in the offensive end and defence playing a huge role, the Rattlers lead only by 1 34-33 at the half.
The Third quarter started off very slow as whistles controlled the game. With 6:50 left on the clock the Rattlers already had 5 team fouls. They were followed into bonus shortly after by the Broncos. With a quarter dictated from the line, Olds seemed to be getting to the charity stripe more often than the Medicine Hat Squad. Even with this the Rattlers were able to produce enough offence to hold off the surging broncos holding on to a slim 59-52 Lead.
The Fourth Quarter saw a surge of offence at the start as play started to flow in the early minutes. As soon as the fouls and whistles started however, the game slowed right down again. With both teams with players in foul troubles, both teams needed to use their bench and deep into the bench. With players fouling out of the game both teams needed to get the most out of their bench. The Rattlers seemed to have the deeper team on this game finishing it off by winning by 20, 65-85
