Camrose, AB - After pulling out a win on Friday night, the Augustana men's basketball team fell just short in a rematch with the visiting Keyano Huskies on saturday. Final score was 86-79 for the Huskies.
After the first period the score was 20-18 with the Huskies up by two points. They then expanded their lead to 43-36 just before half time, giving them a slight edge going into the third. The Augustana Vikings continued to struggle in the third, falling behind 55-71 by the end of it. Despite outscoring the Huskies 24-15 in the last 10 minutes, the Vikings fell short giving the visitors a win with a final score of 86-79.
Player of the Game was awarded to the Huskies second year forward, Stefan Jovcic, with 17 points and 10 rebounds. D'Aubre Doucette and Chris Oppong chipped in 17 and 16 more points respectively.
On the Augustana Vikings side, with 22 points and 4 rebounds, Spencer Marion took home the Player of the Game Award. Elijah Schmuland added 16 points, while Nathan Bowie chipped in 11.
