Hometown product Jacob Simmons (4th year, Business Administration)  gave a boost to the Huskies in the opening 10 minutes by dropping in 7 points and adding 6 assists as the home side leads 29-22.

It was raining threes for the Vikings in the opening minutes as they went 4-for-4 before cooling off. They would finish the game 13-of-18.

With five minutes left in the half, the Huskies go away from ball movement to individual play with the Vikings moving the ball to take the lead 40-36 with a Huskies timeout with 3:00 remaining until the break.

At the half Vikings lead 47-44 as a last second tip follow  by Keyano's Stefan Jovcic (3rd year, Education, Mississauga, Ontario) is waved off.

Both teams shooting impressive from the field with the Huskies at 61.5% 16-of-26 and Vikings 69.6% 16-of-23.

In the opening minute of the third period the Vikings are on fire and take a 55-47 edge.

Huskies see hustle from Angelo Mbituyimana (2nd year, Open Studies, Calgary Alberta) to keep them close.

A thunderous dunk by 6-foot-8 Noah Horobetz Simpson (2nd year, University Studies, Winnipeg Manitoba) brings the more than 300 fans to their feet  as the Huskies lead 72-69.

Vikings open the final period outscoring the Huskies 11-4 in the opening three minutes. Playing fundamental basketball and moving the ball to the open man they control the rest of the game.

Simmons was the Huskies Player of the Game with 24 points and 9 assists. Joe Michael (5th year, Social Work, Montreal Quebec) added 24 points and 7 boards.

Vikings POG was Michael Stasuik with a jaw dropping shooting performance of 11-of-14 from the field and 5-of-5 from the free throw line for a game high 36 points.

Vikings bench contributed 38 points compared to Huskies subs totaling 11 points.
