Eagles heated home opener vs Thunder

The King's University Eagles opened their 2019-2020 campaign versus a histrorically strong Concordia Thunder team. The Eagles look to improve on their previous season, versus a Concordia team that finished 1st in the North division last year. 

In the first quarter, the Eagles came out flying as they started the game with a 5-0 run, but the Thunder were able to weather that storm and claw their way back. Both teams went back and forth as they looked to gain an edge over the other, until the Thunder went on a 9-4 run and ended the quarter with a slim lead, 21-17. In the second, the Eagles stormed back tying the game up early in the quarter. Again both teams, traded off points, until the Eagles went on a late quarter run of their own, as they went into half time leading the Thunder 48-32. In the third, the Eagles did more of the same, as they started off strong, and continued to weather any attack the Thunder produced, as they continued to lead going into the final quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Thunder began to chip away at the lead, but like the Eagles have done all game long.they weather the storm. The game became heated, as #12 Joshua Hamilton, # 02 Nicholas Gibb, and #4 Lucas Turchet recieved technical fouls in the final quarter. But nevertheless, the Eagles were able to hold on to their lead and come out with a win, beating the Concordia Thunder 82-72.

The Eagles play the Thunder once again, in rematch of tonight's game, October 19, @ Concordia @ 8pm.
